Google Inc., is showing off an online store for consumers who want to buy games, magazines, and other applications through a Chrome browser as the giant search engine’s efforts to become a media center Web and next-generation entertainment.
“Advertising is very important on the Web, but we want to create another alternative,” said Google’s Vice President Sundar Pichai while attending the annual conference held by Google’s developers in San Francisco, Wednesday (05/19/2010).
He said that the Chrome Web Store, an online store and Google will soon open a web browser is easier to find and buy a Web application with one click. The store is accessible via a web browser Google Chrome, the browser now has 70 million users, up from 30 million in June 2009.
The idea of combining a variety of free and paid applications in an online store for consumer was popularized by Apple through their ‘App Store’ for iPhone users. Google phone with Android operating system and Research In Motion Ltd. for BlackBerry and other now also has its own application store.
