European Union (EU) will facilitate the citizens in using mobile devices. One of them is to eliminate the dependence of different types of chargers. As quoted by Business Week, Monday (07/02/2010), starting next year all the phones in Europe are possible to use just one type of charger.
The use of one type of charger is one form of agreement by EU governments with some mobile manufacturers. This means that mobile phones in circulation in the EU would no longer be equipped with a charger. Thus, this helped to reduce electronic waste are already mounting. Uniformity in charger is also intended to make it easier for mobile users to borrow the charger for others when they forgot to bring it.
“This strategy is quite interesting, right? Surely many people will be happy,” said EU spokesman Dennis Abbott. This universal charger is a product that has been agreed by mobile phone vendors like-Apple, Emblaze Mobile, Huawei, LGE, Motorola, NEC, Nokia, Qualcomm, RIM, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, TCT Mobile and Texas Instruments.
This universal charger will be available for data-based mobile phone (smartphone), which phones that allow for the exchange of images, files, and music via the USB port on your computer. That is, all mobile phones in circulation in the year 2011 will be able to use this charger.
